Mark grew up in a small town north of Lincoln, Nebraska. His parents are both retired and live in Lincoln, Nebraska. His younger sister works as a consultant and also lives in Lincoln. His older sister lives in David City, Nebraska and works in a pharmacy. She is married with 2 daughters. His only brother works for the Navy and lives in Panama City Beach, Florida. He is married with 2 boys.

 

During his Junior year in High School Mark joined the Army Reserve. After he completed his required training for the Army, he attended college and graduated with a B.S in Criminal Justice. He served in the first Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm / Shield as a Military Police Officer in charge of POW’S. The next 12 years he worked in sales and customer service. His last position was an Area Sales Manager for Dillard’s Department Stores.

 

Mark has been active in church work since being a member at Zion Lutheran Church in Dallas, Texas from 1998 to 2002. He was a Sunday School teacher, filled in as church secretary, and volunteered for various church projects. He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and became a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in 2002. Mark continued to volunteer at Good Shepherd with Sunday School, VBS and assisting on Sunday’s with Divine Service.

 

He took a year of classes at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska from 2004-2005. He was accepted into Concordia Theological Seminary at Fort Wayne in 2005.His second year of Seminary he studied at Westfield House in Cambridge, England as part of the exchange program with the Fort Wayne Seminary. He served at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola, Florida during his vicarage in 2007-2008.

 

Mark graduated in 2009 from the Fort Wayne Seminary with a Master of Divinity. His first call was to Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Cushing, Oklahoma in 2009. He has also served as a vacancy Pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wellston, Oklahoma since April 2013. He also has experience with campus ministry and served in the Rotary Club in Cushing.

 

Mark is single and his hobbies are spending time outdoors, especially hiking, sightseeing, and traveling. He enjoys sports, and his favorite sport is football. He enjoys reading, golfing, and volunteering in the community.
